KLIMAready Kickoff in the Schnackenburgallee Commercial District

Around 20 representatives from companies, district offices, and public authorities came together on July 14 to identify key climate topics for the location. The result: heat supply and climate adaptation will be the focus areas for collaboration within the Cluster Bridge around Schnackenburgallee.
With around 1,500 companies, the Schnackenburgallee commercial district is Hamburg's third-largest business park. It is home to manufacturing companies, utility and waste management operators, as well as numerous small and medium-sized enterprises offering industry-related services. The diversity of businesses makes the location an important economic hub and, at the same time, offers great potential for jointly developing solutions to site-specific challenges.
KLIMAready pursues a deliberately needs-based approach: the companies themselves determine which issues are addressed. That's why the kickoff workshop on July 14 — supported by the innovation consultancy XO Projects — centered on one key question: Which climate topics matter most to the companies at Schnackenburgallee?
Focus on heat supply and climate adaptation
The workshop quickly revealed that many companies face similar challenges. Through joint prioritization, heat supply and climate adaptation emerged as the most important areas for action. These two topics now mark the start of substantive work for the third KLIMAready Cluster Bridge at Schnackenburgallee.
Over the coming months, KLIMAready will explore both topics in greater depth together with the companies through further workshops. The project team will accompany the process, bring together relevant stakeholders, and involve experts as needed to jointly develop practical solutions for the location.
